Kanekalon Curls

I've been making some pretty little pastel and black colored kanekalon curls... I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing with them, but it will be fun! I'm thinking of mixing these shorter curls with some of my hand-made krinklepuff style marley braid.

Dying Merino Wool Roving

I'm dying some merino wool roving. It was light creamy white to begin with. I'm using an acid dye soaking technique. It sounds more toxic than what it actually is... The acid is just plain white vinegar, and the dye is food coloring mixed with water.

Rinsed and almost completely dry
Soon I'll be making this into some lovely dreads

…it’s a bit different in texture, and a little more shiny and soft, but just as light weight and fluffy. Plus, by making it myself, it allows me the freedom to create endless color combinations and gradations.

Custom Colors and DIY Marley Braid (aka:material used to make Krinklepuffs)

I've been busy busy busy, shuffling my latest color blends...

Still working on getting the texture “just right” for my handmade custom blended marley braid…Marley Braid is a pre-made textured style of kanekalon synthetic hair, which is often used to make super fluffy lightweight falls - called Krinklepuffs or Krinkle Falls. Marley Braid is available in a somewhat limited variety of colors and most are solid. I prefer blended colors (above is a blend of neon pink and neon purple), so I’m mimicking the texture on my own custom color blends.
